what Mach system do I have?

Hey Guys,,,,dumb question, but I need another head unit, and ended up getting an incompatible one by mistake. (my mistake)

So I have an '02 GT - has the 6cd changer double din head unit. My tweeters do say 'Mach' across them, but I don't see 'Mach 460', or 'Mach 1000' listed anywhere.

.....So what do I have?

I bought a head unit out of an '03, and it had different plugs/connectors than mine does, so I can't use it. (looking at it from the back, it's connectors are all on the left side, and mine are all on the right side).

What year stangs have compatible heads I can use?

-basically mine gives that 'CD Error', and won't play, insert, or eject cds. Been that way since I bought it. Pulled mine out, and shook the crap out of it,,and jammed a butter knife in there to see if I could free up whatever might be stuck - if it's a mechanical problem - but no luck.

460 unless it has subs in the trunk

No subs IN the trunk,,,just that rack with the amps, and two speakers that sits behind the rear seats.

Will an '01 radio work for me?

Just buy an aftermarket HU. cheap and sound better than the stocker

This happened to me

This is NOT a mach 460 headunit..

If you have those plugs then you have the basic headunit..

Sorry for the late reply,,,but yes,,that's the HU I have as a stocker.

Thanks for the pick.

I'd still like to replace it with a stocker though, just for convenience right now.

Oh cool - so a plain jane non Mach HU? (like the one pictured above?) Does the CD player still work?

Interested in trading for a Mach(something,,not sure if it's a 460/1000)?

The Mach deck CD changers are horrid. Mine just crapped out on me. I'm going to get an aftermarket unit with an adapter so that it can run the amps and speakers in my 02. I'll see if I can dig up the adapter model...

I believe this is what you need, but I'd look into it further just to make sure since I haven't actually replaced mine yet.

If you have subs in the trunk it is the mach 1000. If not its the mach 460
