So i think my clutch went out :'(

I was driving to get a movie for family night and everything drove fine no issues. Well I parked to go get a movie and when I got in the car to leave, it wouldn't go into gear and I noticed my clutch pedal wasnt as stiff as before. Every time I tried to put it in gear itd start rolling. I turned the car off and tried the gears and it went into every gear no problem. So I put it in first and started it up and it started rolling even with the clutch pedal full pressed. Idk Wat my problem is. But I got it safely home. Had to shift gears without a clutch :\ anyone got any suggestions? The clutch is a RAM hdx clutch rated at 400 HP but its only.9 months old and only got around 5k miles on it. Does anyone kno if there is a warranty on these clutches? Help please!

Do you have an adjustment cable on it. Maybe it's broke. Or the stock quadrant stripped?

Its stock cable, quadrant, and cable. I check it all and the cable wasn't very tight like it had stretched or something. It would disengage the clutch a little but not enough to shift gears if that makes sense

Buddies did that and the slave cylinder went bad.

we dont have a slave cylander on our cars. your cable is stretched and its probably going to break, or your quadrant is stripped and its going to shit the bed soon as well

Well that's Wat I'm hopeing it is. Id rather spend $100 on a adjustable quadrant kit than $300 on a clutch. The clutch is not even a year old and it was driving perfect. No slipping, no jumping, or chattering. But I had my mechanic sit in and be tried it and he said Yup u need a new clutch without hesitation. Then was like well Ur flywheel my be busted and.hung up but the flywheel was replaced when I got the clutch put in

I would lean more towards the cable and or quadrant before jumping to the clutch. It doesn't make since for it to go out like that after 9 months of flawless performance, and the cable/quadrant are original pieces.

Pull the splash guard off. Check to see if it broke at the fork. I had the same problem. If you want, just buy a new cable. Get the Maximum Motorsports one. I have broke 2 Steeda's and the MM has held just fine.

My 90 LX did that same thing except in my driveway before work one morning. It drove home fine the night before and wasn't in the morning. Got me out of work for a day, and it was a good thing I had already purchased my Steeda quad kit. Good luck with the swap it's a little bit of a pain up under the dash but well worth it in the end.

Exactly my thoughts. It's a RAM hdx clutch a.d got a brand new nodular iron flywheel and had them.both installed at the same time 9 months ago and it only has 5k miles on em. I have noticed too that sometimes here recently when is push the clutch in, it'd make like a clicking feeling in the pedal when I pushed it. It'd only do it once. It's like something was hanging a little and it pushed thru it. Idk if I explained that right

UPDATE! Giggity giggity my car is running like a charm now! I got under the dash and adjusted the factory quadrant to where the preload on tob would be slightly pressed against the pressure plate fingers and walah! Took me all of about 45 mins to fix. I drove it around the neighbor hood raising hell, no.burnt clutch smell so I didn't adjust it too much but it goes into every gear a lot smoother than before and the doesn't slip or anything. Front mechanicing FTMFW! Sorry I'm just overly excited that i don't have to buy anything now
