Well I know the alternator is going bad, I have the new one for, but miles don't matter on some things. Certain parts just go bad after time no matter the mileage.

68k miles is great! Definitely dont trade it for a newer GT. Mine has 86k and I'm building a new motor for it. Love my car! (00 GT).

If you have the money and want to get a 4v then thats cool too. Otherwise your at great mileage to build your GT

It honestly sounds like your mind is already made up and you're wanting us to convince you otherwise. Bottom line is...it's YOUR car and YOUR decision, not ours. Do what you want.

I found a brand new 2001 Cobra engine complete with no miles on it, the guy says it has set for 3 years in the crate. Not sure if I would trust it though, I would hate to buy it and install it just to have to rip it apart if something was wrong.

If my mind was made up, I wouldn't have made this thread.

Unless it hasn't been taken care of your motor has a lot of life left in it. When I bought my car it had 65,000 miles. I put the blower on at 80,000 miles. I plan on running it to 200,000 miles. I really don't worry too much about car repairs. The average monthly car payment is around $500 per month. If I put $500 in repairs in my car and drive it for three months then I've saved a thousand dollars. But, as I mentioned earlier, I haven't had very many repairs.

But you are correct, not all repairs are mileage related. It the interior is trashed and the paint is bad then I'd probably trade it.

Maybe I will just keep it and do the top end and down the road throw a charger on it.

Everyone's wanting to change up lately.

I've thought about selling mine, but it ends at that, just a thought. Not doing it. Been wanting to save cash for a truck or a Termi as my next daily. (I know, backwards, GT weekend car, Cobra daily) But I eventually want to do a pretty decent build with this car.

It's been said many times, but I'd keep it for sure! I wouldn't sell a car with that sort of mileage to get a newer one in the same body style. I'd rather keep my car, knowing its in good shape, and nothing's wrong with it than to try to find another one, because you wouldn't know the history on the car (how hard the cars been beat on, what parts might need to he replaced). I bought my 2003 for $9900 OTD, but 2 months later the clutch went out, I had a few issues with brakes, then found out the A/C compressor was bad. I had almost $12000 in my car before it was all fixed. Keep yours!

I my car because it was super clean, and only had 48k miles. Just because it has low mileage doesn't mean it's better!
