I hear you about having a hard time finding a good Mustang that's not abused or rusted out up here in the north. I got lucky and found mine as the guy selling it couldn't afford storage anymore, and I got my 99GT for $4300 with a few decent mods already installed (H-Pipe, 2.5"cat back, CAI, nothing major).

Keep an eye on Craigslist, and don't be afraid to drive a few hours to go get one. I had to drive 3 hours south for mine, but was well worth it.

I'd def look into that one in Louisiana. Its really not that bad. Just buy a one-way ticket and you'll have a car under your price range, worth a lot more, great deal, and have a nice drive back up. Seems sensible to me....

Sometimes a road trip will get you a better car for less money. When I was in Washington D.C. all of the east coast dealers placed a location surcharge of two-three thousand dollars on their new cars. I had friends buy them. I was of the opinion that I'd take a vacation, fly out to a more reasonable area, buy a car and get the vacation for free.

ok I think I found one!! I wish I could post pics but...Its a 97 v8 manual with 121K. Its clean new paint job...new rims, sounds good, has the flowmaster exhaust on it. Also interior is clean, leather, cassette and cd player. Also...btw its convertible. The place wants 5950 for it but I would try to offer him between 3500-3900 (if I get the loan...never got one before)...Trust me its reallly clean

I didnt find it online. Its at a dealer. I didnt get pics

but its really clean. NICE and SHINY. Perfect new paint job. (because they repaired a dent on the side. Its black with red detailing on the hood. Black drop top. Top looks good. Tires are not stock. But everything else is except the exhaust.

hey everyone...Im back. Ive been searching and test driving for so long...feels like forever. Anyway I've narrowed it down to: 1999 mustang 2dr coupe. V6. automatic. Its red, and has 138k miles on it. has clean history, only 4 previous owners and no accidents. clean exterior and no dents or damage. original cd and cassette player. cloth seats. decent interior. drives good, the starter seems a tiny bit loose...the steering wheel is pretty worn. Trans changes good.....has k&N air intake...and filter, not sure of any other mods... $3900

{one thing I didnt expect was to like an auto 6er but...its pretty sweet. Everything stock.}
