Saleen spoiler question-

I picked up a saleen wing for my 04 gt today and for the install there is only 2 bolts to hold it down.. the stock holes in the rear of the trunk lid. There is nothing to hold the forward part of the spoiler down, the previous owner told me he used 3m tape, does that sound right? I put some 3m tape on it just for now but I would like to see it sit more flush to the trunklid. Any ideas or suggestions besides "put the stock spoiler back on" or go "wing-less"?

Any way you can drill a hole and bolt through it to hold it down?

No way, took me forever to find one locally and it was already painted black

Nah its too thin of plastic to drill it.

i have the same wing...it just uses the two studs and yes 3m tape...i'm waiting to paint mine before install. btw i did a test fit with just the studs and a tiny bit of tape and it held perfectly...i know that when i add the correct amount of tape it will never move again bwahahaha

thanks...and yeah i think it looks great too.

in that pic the only thing holding it on are the two studs and about 3" of 3m tape in the center....crazy how well this thing stays in place

Thanks man, I just didn't think it felt right with 2 bolts and some tape. I'll post pictures up tomorrow after I'm done sanding it down and re-painting it.

Its a nightmare getting fitment and.setting.it right..after.tape touches its stuck and you have to line bolt holes up perfect as setting the wing.perfect and.key hole. Mock it up and mark the car where the wing wil.go so you can just set it on your marks...

6er- Judging by those large ridges on the side of the spoiler, is that part of the 3-piece wing?

3M tape is awesome stuff. We call it supervisors tape here as it is 2 faced! LOL!
