back to the drawing board

went to the track today for the final test and tune for the season. didnt run bad but slower than usual. my 60 foots are killing me with tire spin. i had my 2 step set down to 2100 rpm's and still spinning. after 2 passes i relised my har has a hard time lifting the nose and squating in the back. for now im thinking of gettin strange 10 way ajustible struts for the front, keeping the stock cobra springs, but eliminating the front sway bar. for the back i will be replacing the upr double ajustible control arms for base line pro launch 1's and keeping the upr pro series ajustible lowers with moroso 3 way ajustible shocks. i have fox body springs and if it does not soften up the launch i will be swapping out all the springs for pro launch kit.

any other useful tips on a compleat drag suspension setup for a 10 sec car is apreaciated.

passes on the night.

your consistant at least.

I would try one thing at a time, so you can document what made a difference etc as you go

unfortunatly its a bad combo. the bilstien struts in the front along with the sway bar keep my nose from lifting, as for the rear, it just isnt squating. the moroso drag shocks are soft along with the fox springs but for some reason the ass end as no give to it. its like the rear end is bound up. i have ajusted it 20 times and nothing helps it. i think its the poly bushings i have in the axle housing.

Id stat at the front, make those adjustments, then go to the rear. The rear should be wanting to squat with what you have back there, your uppers and lowers the same length, whats the pinion angle?

my lowers are set at 17.5 inches long, my uppers are ajusted so my pinion angle is 2 degrees negative. i ajust my uppers off of 1 upper then i measure off the one to set the other. i do it on a 4 post lift so it should be right but for some reson something is binding up back there keeping my car from squating. im kind of leaning towards the bump stop but i have a decent gap but not as large as i would like. maybe ill cut it down some.

What tires are you using and what size? Do you have a drag bag in the back right? You gotta remember its a lot harder to raise the front end on your car than a 2V bc of the 4V heads and heavy roots style blower sitting up front, and if you have the stock K they weigh a ton over a tubular one. Your 60 foot should be low 1.6-1.5's at least with your power.

That's also one reason I love 1/8th mile track's bc you don't have another 1/8th mile to make up for mistakes or an in-efficiant setup on a high HP car.

no drag bag in the back. im running a 26x10 hooser drag slicks on a 15x10 wheel. i understand the front end weights more, but the stock cobra bilsten shocks blow for drag use.

I'd call up baseline and see what he recommends for springs, I think i remember both him and dave at teamz recommending stock v8 springs for the rear, apparently they work better then the drag springs. deff get some baseline relocated uppers, and a rear anti roll bar would help quite a bit. along with some better drag shocks/struts. either stranges or even lakewoods would be leaps and bounds better than bilsteins i'm sure.
