What about the rubber cap thing with a hole in it that looks like it goes over the top of the pump? It also came with a soft rubber mat type sleeve that looks like it slips down over the body of the pump, did you use either of those?

I cut the rubber cap to fit and I did not use the sleeve. The rubber cap was only retained as a buffer, it serves no purpose anymore since I cut the bottom of the basket out. It's original purpose was to seal the basket to allow the pump to siphon fuel into the basket easier.

I have the tank out right now so it wouldn't be too hard to undo the hat and take a bunch of pics. I'm not going to do it just for shits though, ya know... just extra work. I'm hoping this writeup is good enough.
