That, my friend, is the flux capacitor. It's what makes time travel possible!!!
Seriously though, it looks like it's a progressive fuel pressure regulator. It will bump the pressure up in direct relation to your boost so you maintain adequate fuel throughout the rpm and boost range.

I have no idea what that is. My car doesn't have it. We don't have pressure regulators on our cars.

It's call a Fuel Management Unit, FMU, but I still don't know what it does... I was reading up and it sounds like it cuts out fuel to increase pressure under boost? lol, idk doesn't make any sense if I have that high flow fuel pump and 42 lb injectors then i dont think i need it
it just came with my used kit, maybe I can sell it?? |

Like I said, it gets a manifold pressure signal from a vacuum/boost line. It has a diaphram inside it that relates that signal and either increases or decreases the fuel pressure accordingly. That way, lets just say you need 30psi fuel pressure. At 10psi of boost, it will increase the pressure to 40psi (40-10=30).
You probably don't need that since your fuel pressure is controlled by the computer. I imagine that whoever had that probably had a carbureted car.

Ah, so FMUs are for applications that require less fuel pressure to maintain safe air-to-fuel ratios. Wonder what I could sell it for? 25 bucks? |
