Let's talk lowering springs:
I REEEEAAAALLY am looking to drop my car. The 4x4 is killing me, and I'm going to go ahead and treat myself to some springs for Christmas.
Here's the deal though. I love the look of a slammed new edge, but I also enjoy a nice little rake with the front being lower than the back. But going slammed probably isn't an option for me. The reason is that our roads around here where I live absolutely SUCK and I already scrape on certain driveways as it is. I look the look that H&R Super Sports gives, but I'm afraid that might be too much of a drop for the area around me. I really don't want to be scraping like crazy. Let's hear some recommendations: What do you guys think will be the best springs for what I'm looking for? Also, who else has shitastic roads around them with a lowered new edge, any issues?

Depends on how much you lower your car. You will scrape the cats and exhaust if you go to low. I would recommend going with H&R springs like the Super Sports, but if that is to low with your ride you can go FRPP Springs for a 1" drop.
I take it your just wanting to lower your mustang for looks and not performance related.

I picked up the standard Eibach lowering springs and love them. They lowered the car enough (not slammed but looks good) it still rides comparable to stock and the handling was a good improvement. I'm not a big hang it out 100mph in the curves kind of guy so super stiff springs arent for me. My wife hates riding in my stang enough because of the seats, I dont need her hating it rattling her teeth lol

I drive in LA the worst of all. Eibach has good offerings and will keep you at the perfect height for city driving. I really push the car in the canyons up here at it holds its own. They really are the perfect springs for daily driving.

My 02 GT has H&R SS springs and I love them! It sits awesome and I only scrape over extra tall speed bumps. I have a set of Vogtland springs new in the box that I bought for my 01 GT, but I haven't put them in yet because I don't know if I want to swap them out and put them in my 02. I am worried about being to low when I put the chin spoiler on. I bought the Vogtland because I have heard a lot of good things about them. They drop the car roughly 1.6" front and rear. Good luck!

I got my lower springs from Late model restoration... they lowered it even more than the summit lowering springs I took off but the ride is a LOT better. Got them for only $100 too. I would definitely recommend them, but I do scrape my exhaust a lot

My car's slammed, and Jersey has some of the worst roads in the country...LOL
You just get used to driving slow, and avoiding everything, and angling into EVERYWHERE. "If you want low, you gotta drive slow." Thank God for my skid plate. ^_^

I've got some 1.5" drop springs on mine, not sure what make as they were on the car when I bought it, but here in Minnesota I haven't scraped anything yet. I do just barely clear the curb when I park too far forward, and it makes it sit really nicely.
I would highly recommend replacing the isolators when you do your springs. Mine weren't replaced when the previous owner did his, and the rears are VERY rough on bumpy roads. |

Thats a new thought. I never heard of getting cobra A arms. So it makes the front wider and lower?

If your on a budget and want to lower the car dont be afraid to cut the stock springs. Everyone says its horrible and all this but 50% of people on the forums are a bunch of parrots that dont work on their own cars and only repeat what some other joe blow said on corral or whatever. I did cut a set of stock springs and the car rode damn good still. Rode better than my eibachs do actually and better than any aftermarket spring car I've rode in... It just didnt handle well because even though it was lower the spring rate was still way to soft but it didnt handle any worse than stock either. It served its purpose. Looked better and rode the same.
