i'm assuming matt you're running an anderson since no one else really made one. house of boost made one for a short time period but have stopped from what i can tell. plenty others make their own.

i have an anderson

Thanks for doing that experiment.

Keep in mind, when you get the car tuned, if the engine is running too lean with the powerpipe, you might lose a few hp after the tuning (adding fuel)...

As far as the weather is concerned:

I was trapping around 117.50 MPH in July (high 80s and high humidity), and now 121.50 MPH in November (mid 50s and about 50% humidity). And F yeah, I can feel the difference!

That's what I was going to say. It would make sense if the system is getting more air in with the same fuel delivery. A slightly leaner mixture could be contributing to the power gains.

Nice to know that it did make a difference though.

The system shouldn't lean out at all in either a blow through or draw though app. Thats what the maf is for. If the maf is calibrated correctly the fuel mixture will remain constant as the maf voltage increases from the increased volume of air. The only condition that would cause the AFR to lean is if the new power pipe was enough to cause the maf configuration to peg.

so what about pulley swapping? would you say jumping down a pulley size would be safe because the maf could make up for it?

i personally would not risk that. i've always been told retune is necessary after a new mod.
