Which way to go with car?

So i was thinking i wanted to do a 4v swap into the car, starting beginning of next year. But.....here lately ive been thinking about how much ive put into 2v specific parts didnt really want to mess with reselling them. Instead i was thinking about getting another 4.6 2v to build then swap in. Plus it would be nice to run around beating on 4v's with a 2. lol

What kind of 2V specific parts are you talking about? I'm building my 2V to be a 4V crusher eventually. I just felt it seemed easier than doing a 4V swap with the time frame I was looking at (wanting it done yesterday). Also, I think with my MMR 4.75, TF heads, and the rest of my mods I should be outrunning cobras just fine.............

Now before all of you 4V guys jump my shit for saying that, let's be realistic. There's a lot fewer worked over 4V's on your (or my) average drive home than are on this forum... so there.

Just alot of top end stuff, full exhuast system, intake manifold. Really not as much as my post makes it sound like, but really after forking over that much money for a manifold, im kinda leary about doing the 4v swap then forking out some big cash for a cobra manifold. When i could just start searching for a good block, forged bottom end, and some cams for now and swap over the heads and intake i already have. Keep stuff basic for now.

Go my route. MMR 4.75 shortblock and Trick Flow heads. They sell a 750 hp version and a 900 hp verison. That's about the most stout 2V setup you'll get, then throw some boost at it and you'll be killing 4V's all day.

Challenge accepted.

Personally I don't think you (the OP) have much into the 2v. I don't think building a 4v is entirely out of the question. MKVIII's are dirt cheap. Plus 4v's are slightly more lethal with boost.

I'm looking to rebuild someday soon too, if I go and get that MMR 4.75 could I just throw on my top end I have now? I couldn't afford to put it all in at once.

Yes.

And it seems like MMR is doing some serious business lately. Seems like everyone and their brother is buying a MMR shortblock, and many are doing it without even having a power adder. Must be the sale.

Are there any other good blocks to look into? I don't always like being like everyone else unless it is the best

Nothing against MMR. Isn't the current special a built shortblock for like $2500? It's tough to buy a forged rotating assembly for under $2000, so it sounds like a pretty good deal.

It all depends on what you're looking for and what your budget is.

Fixed.

Though you'll have a tough time with some of those 5.4 DOHC GT500's and GT's. Wasn't that one TT GT pushing something like 1600hp?

I've never personally ran across a N/A 4v that impressed me. Not saying they are not out there... just saying I've never seen one. My cammed bolt-on 2v traps right up there with all the N/A mach1's i've seen at the track.

That will be one quick car. Arcangel, our local mustang Guru shop, has a guy who swapped a built 3v into his 02 and put a mammoth KB on top. Its running low 9's consistently.

Well im thinking this mmr 4.75 might not be a bad idea. Then i can have an already built block and slap some boost on their when budget allows.
