Cam Install Price

What are people paying for labor for cams installed with springs. Just wondering if its worth my money to buy one in a couple weeks and have it installed in springs. I'm looking at comp cams stage 2

Here it's $900-$1100. First time tunes are $450-$500. Future tunes are $200.

If your getting them installed dont bother. The price of cams and install isnt worth the HP gain. If you do it yourself its worth it but not if you have it installed. Cams are easy to install though. Tackle it yourself!!!

my buddy just got out the door for $800 (that is labor + tune, not including parts). That is a bomb deal if you ask me.

800 is a bomb deal? Its a super easy job than I can do in about 4-6 hours. The retune takes about 30 minutes to an hour. So figure 7 hours. Thats over 100 dollars an hour....I've installed cams in N/A cars for 250 bucks including degreeing them and checking PTV. But most people run the same cams or very similar so it makes it pretty easy when you know from the start where to set them up on the gears to get them close instead of adjusting them 3 or 4 different times.

800s a steal dude. You nuts for stripping motor down in front and installing and degreeing cams.for 250. Maybe its all.its worth to you but its the market. A dyno tune here is 650 if nothing goes wrong. We know that a tune should.only be like 200. 100 a hour..but everyone needs so they can ask whatevee.whatever. my tune was 1100 motor leaned out and i had to go.home and change pump and.come back next day and he charged me again cause he had to re strap it and hook it all up again.

Free. It's not hard to do really. Me and a buddy did his cams in about 6 1/2 hours our first time doing it. Granted that's minus springs but unless youre gonna use a high lift cam, they aren't necessary.

I dont recommened alot of people to do springs themself that arent expierenced. After you get started and hit the hard ones you cant get retainer clips on then your screwed and you need a calm temper..or some pot lol

the cam install is easy, i would recommend tat you pull the motor up and out a bit so you can get back there, its easy to puull the engine, and makes it a whole lot easier to put the cams in aswell, and a lot easier to do headers

Not many have tools to degree or understand the concept. But i recomend rookies paying or watching first. Seen many bent valve threads lol..but if you use hp cams its gravy. Takes 1.5 hrs w/o springs
