Lysholm Supercharger?
Watched this video, and check out the dyno graph. SICK!
Just thought this was very interesting, never heard of it before:

Also, on 04 Mach One heads, with these same cams (Crower stage 3 blower cams) do I need new retainers, or just springs? I called MMR and they said I'd be fine with my stock retainers, but I never really heard of upgrading cams, springs, and not retainers. Thanks

Actually, on second thought, that dyno graph isnt really that impressive with the low torque. I just thought it looked super smooth and linear compared to others I've seen, but the Kenne bell's are similar but with higher torques. Nonetheless, I thought this was interesting as I've never heard of it before

Lysholm's are great blowers, on par with KB/Whipple and Eaton's TVS series. Big twin screws are big fun.
As far as your cams, what spring you run will determine if you need new retainers or not. It will be based on factors such as installed height, seat pressure, and solid length. I just got a set of Livernois springs, they didn't require new retainers. They have the same installed height as the stock ones, and accomodate more lift. Of course if you're set on new retainers, you can buy my FR500 springs and use an offset retainer. They'll do the job and they'll be pretty cheap.

MMR said I would be getting Manley springs and that I could reuse my stock retainers (04 Mach One heads)

MMR shortblock, Manley springs...sparing no expense I see?
At that rate it sounds like you'd have no problem affording a nice Hellion Hellraiser TT kit. Oh and I still have my stock dual Cobra pumps if you're interested. I'll be in town next week.

I'm putting money aside so I can get the rotating assembly, main and side bolts, springs, bronze valve guides, windage tray, and oil pan all at once. Then all I really need are the cams. Then thats really it for "big" (expensive) stuff till I get into the supercharger and fuel system next year

you dont need cams.....they really dont pick up enough to make them worth 1500 bucks...especially when you can just use the stock cams and people makeing 1000rwhp with stock cams...all the cars i have seen with crower cams really make it not worth it..power on the dyno and mph in the quater really isnt to impressive..

![]() I do agree with the cost/power ratio. Shelling out the big bucks for the stage 3's brand new isn't worth it. I scooped up a set of FR500's with springs for $500, which should net ~30hp. You can also switch to 96-98 Cobra cams for around $200 (no springs required) and net 10-20hp. From a cost/power perspective, it's tough to beat.

I love the sound of the FR500's but I thought those were actually worse for boost then stock. I know they're decent n/a cams

when degree'd to the right spec's they work ok with the eaton....dont know how well they work with the big blowers though...if i where you i would just pick up some ford gt cams and just get manley springs and new retianers so it will all be new..

Also I heard that FR500's (when degreed) are a better bet than the GT's. The FR500's give you more duration and a little more lift, whereas the GT's give you more lift and a little more duration. Since we have 4v motors, increased lift doesn't do much for us, so duration does more, thus FR500's>GT's. If you think about it the GT's higher lift favors the longer stroke of the 5.4 that they're designed for, but isn't as great for the more square 4.6. At least that's what played a role in my decision.

one thing to consider is cost per gain. the lyshlom sc kit looks like a good deal if you start with a 03-04 cobra, but for someone who is starting from scratch i would consider a diff rout. doing a cobra swap can be expensive considering you need to pick up a lower manifold, intercooler, pump, heat exchanger, hamonic dampener, accessory drive, alternater, and battery relocation kit. those parts will quickly move the price of the lyshlom from a 3000 dollar power adder mod to easily 4500-5000 dollar mod. for that price you could build a pretty sick single or twin turbo setup.

Truthfully Lysholm has been around since before the 80's...Most PD blowers to this day are based off their design...
