Soft clutch

So I work at a used car lot and we got in a really nice 04 GT convertible with a five speed and I got to drive it and noticed that the clutch is stiffer than mine on my 04 GT mine did feel like this and i realized it after I drove the one on the lot. I just put a new clutch in it And now its soft My old clutch and my new one are both oem has any one else had this problem?

I remember with my old 5 speed and stock clutch, it was pretty soft. I hate soft clutches. Makes it hard to slip them, and annoying to get used to their engagement point.

I drove an old bug eye Subaru WRX a few weeks ago with a stock clutch I believe, and compared to my Centerforce DFX, the clutch in this thing was like pudding. Almost felt embarrassed since I was giving it more gas, slowly letting out more and more.. Thing didn't want to move until all pressure was completely off the pedal.

Then again I think it had some issues. The guy who let me drive it said it was a brand new clutch, but must've not been set up right. Slipped bad. I wouldn't worry about your clutch having too soft of a feel to it if it's brand new, set up right, not slipping.
