From what I have read, you can keep the same k-member as well the mounts from the 2v. Now so smog proposes you should keep the factory (2v) manifolds till you can pass smog. I don't see why you can reuse the old motor's smog crap. One I don't know is if they will check for VCT operation. Your best bet is to call a smog ref and ask him/her.

There are a couple of guys on this forum that have done the swap. I expected them to respond. With the adapter kit the motor bolts right in. You use your stock exhaust, stock wiring harness and stock ECU. You have to lock out the variable valve timing and use a manually operated Cobra TB. I have heard that Logan Motorsport sells the complete swap kit for $950.

California is a little particular. Any intake or exhaust mod has to have a CARB # in order to pass inspection. You're car only has to meet the emission standards required of a 2000 Mustang GT. Swapping in a newer motor doesn't give you new standards. But I also know that California is cracking down building Hot Rods on old platforms.

I'd suggest you start by calling a local inspection station. They may or may not know but they should be able to refer you to someone who does.

the inspection is not really a issue i just have to leave the stock smog stuff off the newer motor.

im more worry about the little detail that will take hour trying to figure out the main one im thinking about is where the AIC valve will go?

I don't believe you use the 2v IAC. From what I've read you use the 05-09 intake with a Cobra throttle body.
