Winter Storage
Ok, i've done a little reading about using sea foam, disconnecting the battery, and putting the car on jacks. But i don't have an extra garage here at home to put the car in, so i'm going to be putting the car in storage at an underground cave.
You're allowed to take the car out whenenever you want. so i figured on a nicer day when there's no snow and stuff every couple weeks i'd go and take the car for a little spin. Do i need to do anything to the car to get it ready to sit most of the winter or should it be fine?

I would do everything you said and throw a cover over the car. If the snow doesn't clear up every couple of weeks (not sure how much snow you get up there in Independence, but we just got our first hard freeze a few days ago down here by Springfield and no snow yet), you should at least go start the engine up and let it run for a bit.

The way tires are made these days, rare for flat spots to occur over a few months especially if your planning on running it throughtout, you don't need to put it on jacks. Better to leave it sit. However, if you do jack it up i'd remove your tires.

Fill the gas tank and put fuel stabilizer in it. This will help keep it from rusting. Also something to consider if its going to be in a place where small creatures live - put something over the exhaust tips so little animals don't crawl up there and put some rat poison in the engine compartment to kill anything that crawls up in there. I've found dead animals and rats nests in air box's on cars before.
Also a good wash and wax is never a bad idea. |

Number 1: get any ethanol-laced gas out of the fuel system. Stabilizer won't do enough in that stuff, trust me. I learned the hard way.

alright thanks guys! sorry it took so long to respond. i've been worried about getting back from school for break, and getting my car passed on inspectiong!
Finally found someone to pass my car, two more years on the lincense! haha Alright well ill maybe put some fuel stabilizer in the tank then...i guess jacks wouldnt be necessary if i planned on running it every couple weeks for a little drive.
