V1 vortech sueprcharger vs. v3?

I found a cheap v1 vortech for about $3k. Will I be sacrificing a lot to not go brand new? Is a v3 that much better?

Thanks

You can find them a lot cheaper than 3k. Hell, I paid less than 3k for my V2 kit.

check my thread out v-3 is self contained and flows a tad better than the v-1. The v-1 needs the oil pan tapped

I like the V1 because you never have to worry about changing the oil. Thats just one more thing I dont wana keep track of.

I got my v1 t-trim w/ intercooler and injectors for $1600. What your getting for 3k better be every single nut and bolt or brand new or ur paying to much.

Wow, where did you find such a great deal?

I would jump on a deal like that, I don't want to pay $5k for an intercooled setup.

my advice to you (since I know you are excited about pulling the trigger on a blower) is to shop around and DO NOT JUMP ON A DEAL BECAUSE YOU ARE EXCITED.

Keep your eyes open, and make sure you check it from every angle. You want to make sure whatever you end up with is in good working order and you are not getting ripped off. If the buyer senses your excitement they can use it to their advantage to get whatever they want out of you

P.S. I found my blower by literally searching google. Found some random forum with some random guy with a for sale add posted up. Contacted the dude, and it all went from there. It did take some negotiating.... but remember... you are the one with the cash use it to YOUR advantage

I feel your pain man. I have well exceeded the value of my car in aftermarket parts. Guess I gotta keep this thing forever

v3 si trim is deff worth getting over a v1 s trim. even thought a s trim is cheaper you will be doing a pulley swap and tapping the oil pan to install it. tapping the pan is not hard but you add the chance for a oil leak, or just another way to mess up the install since you have not installed one yet. a v3 si trim is probably the perfect matched sc for a mustang. it produces 10# of boost with the stock 3.6 pulley. since the step ratio is more aggressive over the v1 it will make more pound per pulley and easily supports mid to low 600 hp with a good motor setup without being over spun.

I see, that would be true if I was installing it myself but I would have a mustang specialty shop do the work so I'm not too concerned.

Thanks for your insight

performance evolution their are many other with the same price 2500-2800 for tuner kits. I got mine for 2600 shipped v-3si. This way I chose my fuel got 60# and bap40amp. I already have a tuner so it wasnt worth buying a new complete kit for no reason
