Cutting stock springs tools

Not to bother again guys, but i have another question to ask what are all the tools i would need to cut my stock springs until i get some H&R springs in January. I would like to cut one coil since i have read that's it should provide the same drop as the H&r springs.

this isnt too bad to do. the fronts are the hardest to get out/back in IMO. you will need a floor jack, 2 jack stands, a good set of metric wrenches/sockets and a grinder with a cut-off wheel.

i use this method when doing springs. makes things go pretty quick and it really isnt that much work.

Harbor Freight 4 1/2" angle grinder/cut off wheel. $20, works like a charm.

Best way to remove the front springs it putting a jack underneath the LCA and after unbolting everything, SLOWLY lower the jack and the spring will fall out. Make sure you stand to the side incase something slips. Thats how i removed my old ones.

WRONG.........

Easiest way to do fronts is get the car up in the air.. put the jack under the LCA.. unbolt the front sway bar, unbolt steering rack, unbolt LCA and drop the back of the LCA...

doing it this way requires only taking off 8 bolts.. brakes dont come off, caliper doesnt come off.. etc

Put my Eibach Pro's in this saturday and the front took 45 minutes for both sides

Did you even read a word i wrote? Its pretty common sense i ment that its up in the air, what do you think would happen if you pulled a wheel off without a stand under it?

EDIT: 281, yes, you will need a coil spring compressor and yes you will need to take off your rotors and calipers.

you dont really need a spring compressor IMO. when i unbolted my front struts from the strut tower and slowly left the jack down from under the lower A-arm, the springs will nearly fall out. once you cut a coil out, they will pretty much go right back in effortlessly. the fronts deff. have to have the calipers removed. its really easy, 2 bolts per side is all. and what ever you do, DO NOT forget the ABS sensor wire. when the suspension in the front is at full drop (struts unbolted) it will tear out if you dont un-do the wire from its mount. it also helps to unbolt the sway bar ends. you will gain a little more down travel, making it easier to get the springs out.

the rear is just as easy. when you take out the lower shock bolts and drop the rear end down, i find it easy to grab the old springs and twist them...kind of like a bolt...just take a look at how the coils are spaced and you will see what i mean.
they will come right out. again, when you cut your stockers, they are super easy to get back in. the H&R springs will go in really easy...i have those on my car as well and they basically fall right in with the suspension at full drop.

LMR sell a tool to hold the spring in the control arm.

ok you guys are doing it the hardest ways possible. disconnect your swaybar links and remove your abs cable from all the mmounts, cant remember if you have to take it off at caliper. put a jack under the balljoint, remove your two strut bolts (at spindle) and just lower the jack. done. reverse to put back in

Need a wrench or two for you sway bar links, an I thi k it's like a 21mm socket for the strut bolts. And even if you ha e to pull the caliper, it's two bolts and it slides off takes all of an extra 2 minutes. Just take those apart and you should be able to just lower the jack and push the control arm down by hand. Can also just pop the ballpoint instead of disconnecting the strut, and no not with a pickle fork haha
