Best way to pass through the firewall?
I need to run quite a bit of wiring through the firewall, and im going to buy a little 4 screw (.5-1inch diameter) grommet. I'm just wondering if theres a place either in the passenger side foot panel or drivers side that is fairly easy to drill/run wiring through.
Just looking for a clean install. (2003 Mustang GT) Pictures would be great. Thanks |

I used the hole that the hood latch cable passes through (driver's side), I ran a 12gauge and 4 18gauge wires through the hole and used the existing grommet. It was a bit hard to catch it on the engine side since it comes out behind some other sheetmetal, but I was able to squeeze my hand in a hole and grab it, once I had one through I used it to pull the others.

On the drivers side there is a grommet that you can run a bunch of wire through, atm there is like 8 16 gauge wires ( all my nitrous wiring)and a big audio wire going through it. Its like a foot or two down from the top of the firewall around the steering wheel

Thanks for posting that, but how did you do that? anyhow next to the brake booster you can see all my lines coming out, these feed into the drivers side where you can see them and route your wires this was before I build my engine, but the hole is still the same.

^ the hole you used will only be there on auto cars, as that's where the clutch cable comes thru on manual cars.

Can you still not use that same hole and share it with the clutch cable?

I drilled a hole right under and between the clutch cable and throttle cable hole.
