Help - Longer clutch cable for TKO swap?

I have an '03 GT and I replaced the stock tranny with a TKO 500. I also replaced the clutch and flywheel at the same time and had a firewall adjuster and aftermarket clutch quadrant installed. The connection for the clutch cable sits a little farther back on the TKO and it seems like there is a always a little tension on the clutch cable. I get some noise from the tranny sometimes and difficulty shifting into gear. I have the adjuster all the way out. If I adjust it in, it won't hardly shift at all. It seems like it just needs a little more slack and it would be fine. My question is, does anyone know of a longer clutch cable that will work, or a place that will make a longer cable to fit mustangs? Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought that when you adjust the firewall adjuster "in" it provides more "slack" at the shift fork? If so then getting a longer clutch cable would basically server the same purpose, so it sounds like your problem is elsewhere.

Some tension on the clutch cable is normal as long as it is not excessive.

If you don't have an adjustable clutch cable, get one. It gives you about two inches of adjustment at the clutch fork.

Thanks man. I still have the stock cable right now, so I will get an adjustable cable and hopefully that will solve the problem. Thanks again.
