Price for built bottom end

Few questions for built bottom end...

1. For a shop that does good work, what would the price be to have forged internals installed in my GT?

2. Are there any sites that actually sell forged internals brand new?

3. Since its for my Turbo build I would go with a lower cc piston like 38 correct?

Thank You People!

holy crap no on the 38cc pistons. a 18cc dish would work plenty fine for a turbo setup. comanys like mod max, mmr, dss, fox lake, and al papitto all make good modular motors along with selling the parts. how much they cost depends on how good of a motor you want. set your hp goals, better yet what et's you would like to run and go from there. my last motor cost me a little over 6 grand and the total project was a little over 20 grand

haha thanks stal I had no clue on the whole CC to ratio thing to be honest. Still dont. Well I will look into MMR since that is the only company I am familiar with. Jazzer talked me into building my suspension and brakes, etc before I just go throwing an extra 400 horses at my car.

My whole goal is to have a 100% reliable mid 11 sec DD that I woudnt think twice about driving across country and still get equal if not better gas mileage then I do now ( 300 miles to a tank ).

Cobra - 3k??? That would be install of internals/heads/poweradder/tune correct?

3k is short block only, no heads, cam or anything else. a compleat motor build with heads cam, assembled, degreed, and balanced runs 5000 and up.

No that's shortblock only. I charge around $5000 for a complete motor rebuild.

well you could buy rods and pistons for not too much, if your crank is good and you aren't trying to make a lot of power you dont need to replace it. MMR sells stuff for a pretty competitive price, hurry up and see if they have any holiday specials that will let you get what you need cheap.

This is only labor or does it include the parts also? That's damn expensivce if it's only labor. Shops around here charger around $1500 to assemble a shortblock, and people think that's high. You can get a nice 900-1000hp capable rotating assembly for $1800-$2000.

Well I live in a barracks so something like assembling the engine while my car sits some where with no drivetrain is not gonna happen. Plus the Marine Corp is not gonna give me a week off to dick around with my car, which is about how long it would take me to do it with a " how to " manual lol.

I paid a little over 3k for my SB shipped to my door.

MMR MOD 900

New 03/04 Cobra block
18cc Manley flycut Pistons
Manley H beam rods
Forged Cobra Crank
ARP fasteners/hardware
MMR oil pump with cyro treated gears

I've beat the piss out of this SB for 5 years now and it still runs strong. No smoking or excessive oil use.
