Necessary for superchargers?

i've read a ton on here and after contemplating buying $3000-$4000 worth of na mods it seems to me that most agree that tossing on a s/c is the way to go. i think i've decided on the kenne bell but before i do that... is anything absolutely necessary to have on the car first? thanks guys, just trying to get most bang for my buck

Kenne Bell is a very complete kit and replaces most of the parts you would put on the car anyways. If you plan on getting the supercharger and their MAF with CAI You will be all set. An option might be to get headers, an aftermarket mid pipe and a nice sounding cat-back system.

I'll might get alot of mixed comments for saying this, But I would sugest shorty headers with the KB. Shorties promote low end torque wich the KB will give you lots of that. I have that exact setup

Can get a bigger throttlebody which is not needed but helps a lot with a supercharger and thats 200-250 bucks. And the MAF cold air that you can get extra is a good idea. Other than that the kb kit has all you need for the most part.

I also recommend a tune. The KB tune had me running very rich.

The canned tune will ahve you rich...Thats how they keep it safe...

I have heard good and bad about them...Back in the day i knwo the tunes sucked...But DrHolliday used their canned tune and had it checked on a dyno and it was alittle fat but nothing to horrid...

I always recommend at least you check the A/F before hitting boost...

there is nothing that absolutly needs to be done before, just after. tune, plugs, bap maybe will be needed. to get the most i recommend 75mm t/b, 90mm maf, headers, and an 8 rib conversion.

I beleive its the gap more then the temp of the plugs that matters most. But a hotter plug is good for burning oil if the motor is old. My guess is you want to go colder b/c with all the extra air and fuel in the engine its going to run hottor and you don't want to burn holes in the tops of your pistons.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just making an educated guess here

All the extra air rushing into the cylinder will cause turbulence and actually blow the spark out if your plugs are gapped too far open.

Thats the problem I had when I first installed my KB. I did not regap the plugs, so I had the stock gap setting on the plugs and it would cause the car to miss when the boost built up. KB calls for a gap of .035
