ABS Light on, Trac light off

Hey you guys know your stuff. I am getting my son's 2002GT ready for his return from Iraq, He is a Marine. I want to have it repaired when he lands...so I have been reading all these threads, about the 3650 Problems, The car does the 2nd Gear no go at times, and the real stiff other gears (will try the fluid suggestions)
The car also has that loud noise at certain stops, and it and it seems
like the TOB, so the Lube trick will be applied. Now What about the ABS light on. When I got the car the light was on for the ABS and on for the Trac control, and the Trac Control light would stay on always. I cleaned those little magnetic senors and gear teeth behind each wheel, and the Trac Light went off and will not come on at all, and the ABS light is still on...I think the Trac Control is off due to some wheel spin under acceleration...What are your thoughts on this issue..I believe in you guys...

when the light is on, the traction control is off, if the light is off then that means the traction control is on. to turn it off ( i.e. make the light come) on make sure you hold it down for about 5 seconds. my car is having the same problem but both the abs and traction control come on and off randomly at the same time. most likely a bad sensor on the wheel since the systems are tied in together. As far as testing them im not sure if there is a test you can do without going to a dealer to test the abs sensors or not. will have to dig around some more to find out.

Hopefully the fluid change will help the tranny, I'm leaning towards and bad clutch. Remember to always use an oem tob on these cars.

It could be the ABS unit too. That's what was wrong with my 01 GT.
