elec problem


im having an elec issue with my 02 gt i will be driving down the road and alll my elec will start cutting in and out and sometimes the car will not start acts like the battery is dead can come back 10 mins later and it will start right up car never cuts out when running or lose hp just elec power any sugggestions

oh yeah when the power cuts in and out its only off for a few seconds

Sorry to hear that man, electrical gremlins can be a pita. Easiest things to check are going to be battery terminals, the battery itself, the alternator, and fuses. Make sure your terminals are clean and tight. If you have a local autozone they can check your battery and alternator for free. Also, are you throwing any codes?

I would try taking some coke and pouring a bit on the terminals then cleaning them off with an old toothbrush.

Coke... serious? A wire brush alone could do the job, still waiting for an update from the OP.

I've done te coke trick and made it worse. So i bought a terminal brush for 1.99 and works the best.

Sounds more like a short somewhere in the wiring. Could have contact, hit a bump and come loose. Hot another bump and connects again. Strictly a guess.

+1 clean the cables and check to make sure all conections are tight.

Figured it out the battery itself is has a short I checkn the connections on the battery and noticed u could hear the battery arcinginside the casing
