Cars Making Loud Chirping Noise. Need Help.

i think my manual trans is making a loud chirping/squeaking noise, but it could be something in the bottom of the engine. its been making a quiet chirping/squeaking noise but when i almost had a semi hit me head on while i was leaving the gas station i dumped my clutch in reverse and goosed it. now the noise is loud like a sliping belt but in the back of engine or the transmission also my breaks seem to want to scrub but the pads and rotors are a week old. please help

if the noise goes away when you put pressure on the clutch pedal its your throw out bearing.

yep sounds like TOB. mine did the same. would go away completely as soon as the clutch pedal was pressed even slightly

What about the TOBs that come in the kits? Would you still buy a Ford bearing instead of using the one provided? Just wondering because I'll be replacing my clutch in a few months.

if youre in there, its not a bad idea to just replace the clutch too. cost will depend on if you do it yourself or take it to a shop. different shop will charge different amounts.

well it looks like the ford tob is b/w $40-50. i plan to do it myself so i hope it doesn't take too long. i've only replaced one and the car was on a lift so i hope its not too bad with the car on jack stands.
