3.90 gears or 4.10 gears?
I have a 2001 mustang gt 5 speed. I have 3.73 in it right now and im not happy at all. I want wake my mustang up and give it more pop off the line. I dont want to be sitting at 4000 rpm cruzin at 70 or 75 on highway so which gears would be the best. I have my mods listed on the bottom so let me know what to get. I also would like to know what website as well as what brand is the best to get.

ive taken my car on the highway with my 4.10s and it was fine. i mean, i was doing anywhere from 90-120 the whole time and i dont even think i went over 3000RPMS unless speeds were above 100mph... then again im sure u can throw it right into a calculator of some sort and and get a definitive answer

I voted 4.10's b/c ford racing doesn't make 3.90's.
Depending on what path you chose to go you might consider going lower. With my set up I almost want to switch to 3.73's or even 3.55's

4.10s or 4.30s, I am running 4.10s and think if I could do it all over I would go with 4.30s.

You are not going to be very happy with the difference if you just go from 3.73 to 3.90. I would go AT LEAST 4.10 (maybe smaller-numerically larger) just depending on what your future plans are. If you are planning any kind of FI I would stay away from any kind of steep gears, but if basic bolt-ons are it for you than yeah at least 4.10s

i guess that it would depend on what you are doing.. I think that if you are going to stay NA then you need the 4.10 but if you arent then you should go the 3.90..The one problem is that Ford doesnt make the 3.90s so i guess that you would have to go with the motive gears and then i hear that they whine a lot..

The Pro 5.0 gears have had a few good reviews, and they make 3.90s! But go 4.10s! All the places around me that have any knowledge about Mod Motors say that I should go 3.73s, and everyone hear that I have talked to say to go 4.10s! I am going to go 4.10s!
