GT got slower after diablo sport tune :(

Hey guys, sooo I installed a diablo sport tune on my car a few days ago and I noticed an instant power loss, the car is completely torqueless :S I went to the track to test it out and I couldnīt even get the tires to spin to warm them up, so Iīm wondering if anyone know what the hell is going on haha my car is a 2003 GT auto convertible with CAI, 3.54 gears, no CAts, and battery relocation kit, any advice just let me know !

im guessing your front bumper cover may be the root of the problem.

^lmfao what all did you change with the tuner. Some other guy posted up the same thing saying he messed with the fuel settings and what not. Some of those things on there one shouldnt mess with unless one knows exactly what it does and what they are doing. I had no issues with my diablo when i had it but i only messed with the basics like octane tuning , shift pressure WOT shift pressure things of thatsort and nothing more. Its a great tuning tool and i think it can be a dangerous tuning tool if some of the wrong things gets adjusted.

+1, what selections did you make when you setup the tune?

hahahaha XD I know, the last owner put that thing on and it sucks, but I dicided to spend money on performance instead of buying a new bumper and paint it, that shit is expensive here where I live

Well this guy installed the diablo tune then he messed with shift points and advanced spark by 2 degrees, when I tested the car in Drive the thing was slower than a stock civic, then I shifted manually and the car felt way faster than it was stock, at the end of te day I reset the parameters and installed the diablo tune the car felt faster in drive but still not as fast as it was in stock form but now even when I shift manually it feels slow, right now I tried advancing the spark by 1.5 degrees and moved the fuel at WOT twice towards rich, I hope that helps a lot cuz it feels like the car is not getting enough gas

Sounds like you messed with something like these guys are saying. I got all gung ho when I got mine and had it way way rich for a day until i just did the default Diablo HP tune. Whats the best way to use the Diablo tuner? It has a running tune option right? Like I mean you can sit there and run the car and play with parameters right? Ive seen people on youtube messing with it and cranking them up. Whats the best thing to do for the best tune? Anyone????

well I installed the default diablo tune and it was still slower than the sotck tune, Iīm wondering if the GT already had a custome tune in it or something like that, cuz the default diablo tune sucked bad for me I canīt even get the tires to spin and thatīs without touching anything in it, so it isnīt because I touched something !( I did now lol but I still havenīt tried it this way)

If you're not going to remove the bumper, just tint the windows darker so no one will see you.

go to a computer store and get a cable, then have diablo send you the canned tune that came with it. the PO may have overwritten changes into it, or maybe had it dyno tuned and saved in place of the one that came on it. Either way, just get the one that comes on it from diablo. And look around on CL or local JY's and find a bumper, they can be had cheap, go to maaco and have them color match it for ya. not to expensive. Especially if you get it ready for paint yourself. Hell id rather drive around with a mis-matched stock bumper than that thing. But hell that thing is only some chicken wire and a type R emblem away from being a certified race car!

I played a bit with the spark and WOT fuel mix and it is working a lot better, Iīm changing only small amounts to keep it safe, as for the bumper, the last owner was a ricer and put that thing on, I live in El Salvador so finding another bumper would be very very expensive, close to 600 or more painted, with that amount I could get a bunch of bolt-onīs, Iīm slowly rescuing this car from itīs dark past so give me a break...I also have to invest in my other cars as well

It was a combination of things, one was that the gas at the place I used to go to was had a awful quality even at the higher grade fuel, I went to the "best" gas station on the area and I immediately felt the difference. The second thing was that for some reason when I turned the traction control off, it would actually turn it on(seems like last owner did something to it and it was off all the time). I notice this when I tried to do a burnout, didn't spin the tires even on a wet and inclined surface. RMP's wouldn't go past 2 k or 2.5 k.

Normal operation of the t/c is that it is on (green LED off) each time the engine is started, and you must press the switch to purposely turn it off (LED on). When disabled in a tune the green indicator is always on.

I.e. LED off = t/c on; LED on = t/c off...
