Need Help Bad With My Fuel Problem :(

im about out of ideas with why this car is running so poorly at 1/4 tank (like its running out of fuel)
the original pump went bad so i replaced it and figured i would upgrade at the same time so i got an svt focus pump. it started running good again until i got to the 1/4 mark and starts hesitating and stumbling. so now ive put a new stock gt pump but still have the same problem

ive checked ALL the intank lines.
ive replaced the fuel pump with new stock pump and new socks.
ive made sure that the pump is all the way down in the basket but it still is acting like its running out of gas at 1/4 tank

i hope someone can help me cause this is getting depressing lol

How sure are you that your fuel level sending unit is accurate? You should have a 15 gal. tank (correct me if im off) get it to 1/4 tank and go fill it. if it takes close to that 15 gal, then you gauge is off. If you have checked everything and replaced the pump, twice now, i would say your gauge reading is off. If there was a fuel pump problem or FPDM or anything it would probly do it no matter what the fuel level.

Maybe the sensor that reads the fuel level is bad..

You could have water at the bottom of your tank and when you get to a quarter tank it starts sucking in the water and shit at the bottom. Taking in water will make it stutter and seem like its running out of fuel. Do it too much and you risk internal damage.

Doesn't it suck in fuel from the bottom of the tank?

It sucks from low in the tank but not the bottom. Gas sits on top of water, so if there is any water at all in the tank it will be sitting on the very bottom. Along with all the crap that comes out of the pumps.

U get what your saying, to check to see if it takes approximately 15 gallons, but I don't think its his case along with my girlfriends car...because my girlfriends car does the exact same thing and it stalled one time for like 5-10 minutes (so I thought we ran out of gas) but then it started right up and we drove it about 20 miles to the gas station so if it was reading it had gas and actually didn't we wouldn't have made it 20 miles, and it probably wouldn't have started

That's weird. Has your girlfriends car sat for any considerable amount of time before? Have you checked for any codes yet?

Nope no codes, she drives it everyday

im trying to figure this out though, oh it usually happens going around turns but that's not saying its the only time it happened

It sounds like it's running out of gas LOL. But I realize that you have gasoline in the tank. Try hooking up your diablosport and watching your fuel pressure when it stutters.
