Which is the best bang for the buck?

Ok got some christmas money and deciding which little upgrade i wanna do next. Trying to keep it small cause i'm still saving for an on3 for this summer (fingers crossed)...lol

Anyways Stack Racing TB $150 + Stack Racing Plenem $135 = $285

OR

J&M lca's $165 + J&M uca's $130 = $295

I got a sct tuner which i should be able to just email them about a new tune if i got the TB plenum combo? Or would that not be worth the hassle of getting a new tune?

Anyones personal experience with these brands would be appreciated...just so you know i do no go to the track and the car is more of a weekend warrior, so i'm not in need of the top of the line stuff. Thanks!

I'd just hold off and tuck it away towards your turbo setup.

If you really want to spend the money, you're gonna want suspension down the road to handle all that powa!!! you're gonna get from gettin' boosty.

That is what i've been thinking...power from the TB/plenum would be nice, but at the same time if you cant put the power to the ground it does you nothing. So suspension never hurts.

ya thats what i hear about sfc's and control arms...i'm starting to lean alot towards the control arms.

i cant say i completely agree...cause all the horse power in the world wont matter if you cant put it to the ground. Im starting to feel like starting on some suspension stuff might be a good way to go.

With the turbo, wouldnt the bigger tb and plenum let it breath more and give it more power? I feel like it wouldnt be as restrictive as the stock one.

dont loose sight of your (very good) ultimate goal!!

if you DO want to spend the cash though, i would go with the control arms for sure. it will help you out once you are turbo'd

Not sure what you need for the on3 but ontop of the FF-header kit you'll need a k-member with fuel upgrades. Put that money towards a pump/maf/injectors or the k-member.

I say buy some 3.55's or go back to stock 3.27s to help with the turbo.

If u get the tb you will need a tune or u will bog, bought mine with a 78 and no tune... Bogged nasty 1-2500k rpms but I say suspension and look around for a used tb/plenum for much cheaper than that new price cause ur right it won't do much now but once you are pushing a lot more air it should help noticeably more.

Haha thanks, i have enough saved now to buy it just don't want to brake the bank. And i figured i might as well buy something to hold me over till then. BUT i want it to be something that will benefit me also when i get the turbo so that's why i'm trying to decide.

If you check out their site they sell everything that you need. I'm not going to try and pick up parts used cause it's too much work and i would just feel better buying everything new.

"- QA1 K-member, A-arms, and UPR coilover kit for $645 shipped
Both include k-member, Tubular A-arms, and Coil-over kit. The QA1 also includes QA1 billet coilover fully adjustable strut and Caster/Camber plates"

That is directly from their website, and from what i've seen on prices of other stuff they do a pretty good job on stuff you purchase from them.

You really think i should downgrade? I wasnt gonna go any steeper but i didnt think i should drop down at all...

Well i have the sct tuner so i just gotta email them about having it so i can get a new tune for it, that would be enough i would think. I was figuring going 75mm if i did.

My gf got me tools for christmas so now i caught the mod bug again so i can use my tools!

You pretty much get what you pay for when it comes to aftermarket parts. Pay cheap prices and you get cheap parts, it's plain and simple. I've been buying parts for cars for years and I have the first hand experience to back that statement up.

The casting quality on the Stack Racing parts are very poor, I would not recommend their plenum to anyone.

Maybe a Cobra or Bullit front brake upgrade? Faster it is, the more it takes to stop. It's a nice upgrade from the stock gt brakes.

Huh...welll i would assume that but i didnt know that about Stack Racing. I was looking at the J&M control arms from AM, seems like lots of people have bought those.
