Winter Build Begins

so ive amassed to most of the parts i need to begin my winter build...as soon as i get back from vacation next sunday the building begins! heres couple pictures of what i got to take before i left

heres the roll cage and you can see the tires for teh skinnys, and the push pull battery shutoff, and my strange 10-way struts

and heres the 4" cowl i have been waiting for forever

the plan is to start tearing out the interior when i get home and start to fit the cage, once its fitted and ready to be welded im going to trailer the car to my friends shop where he has the hood to paint and fit the hood, and weld in the cage, then when i get it back i plan on swapping to my UPR k-member and doing longtubes at the same time...after thats finsished i plan on moviing the battery to the trunk and getting rid of the kenne bell intercooler reseviour for the moroso one taht goes in place of the battery..lastly take of my BBk subframfes and weld in my new maxumim motorsports ones...hopefully by then my stock seats will be sold and ill be ablet o maybe buy some corbeaus and some harnesses...and thats all thats in the plan but who knows what could come up....hoope to update with pictures as i go along, Cant wait for her to be finished, im shooting for under 11.50's! or faster if possible, i think the cars got it in it

Very nice! Keep us posted on the progress.

I'm interested in the details of the cage. I have a feeling I'm going to have to do one in the very near future.

I hope it does too. I hate taking interior parts apart because something always gets broken. Do you know how fast you are allowed to run with a 6 point cage?

That's only a roll bar. Roll cages are 10pt and up. Roll bars are good till 10.30 then you need a cage.

Doesnt give times that I saw..

IF i get time this weekend, Ill go by my chassis shop and talk to the cage guy.. although normally he only builds full tube chassis cars, he should still know the et/mph and how many points are required

How much does the rollbar weigh?

Is it chromoly or mild steel?

I might be doing this mod for next season myself.

im not sure on the weight, but its mild steel....well i got some work done today, took a while but i had some friends come and help due to my collarbone but we basicly took the interior out was basicly straight up, except i realized that i ran my BAP wire throught the rear seat frame so only snag was cutting and resodering that which wasnt to much of a big deal...just gotta finish up tommarwo getting all the little panels off...then hopefully be able to fit the roll bar and then get the car towed to a freinds shop where he is gonna fit and piaint my hood, and have a some race car builder who did the tubs on his camaro weld the roll bar in....

not much progress but its hard with no left arm

hopeuflly i can sell my seats and hood fast to make some room...
