Youtube is your friend. I used Duplicolor fabric/vinyl dye and it worked like heaven on the vinyl. Just clean the seat really good of all dirt and oils. I used Mean Green from the dollar store and kept cleaning till the rags had no more dirt on them. Shake the cans up really good and paint in a sweeping motion. Start with light coats and build up form there. I think there is some rattle can cap you can buy at Micheal"s that sprays out really wide but the best thing that I found was the rattle can spray gun attachment that cost $1 at dollar general. I have had no problems with the spray dye on my vinyl. none at all!

How well does this stuff last and can it handle the rubbing of getting in and out of the car? That looks really good

^ On the cloth yes it rubs off over time even if you follow all the steps. I rubbed in every coat with a brush and it still wears through over time. On the vinyl it worked like a charm. No problems at all. Most people don't even know it came out of a can. If you start with light coats and build up you will get no runs and a even pattern. I swear that lil gun thing in the pics helps you control the can better. This is not my daily driver so it takes a good while for it to finally rub off, but when it starts to show a lil wear I just spray it a few times and rub it in when I'm in for the night. It hasn't faded but it will rub off the fabric over time. Also I have no signs of it on my clothes. I would not spray it on fabric seats if it is a daily.

Vinyl Dye/Paint - Product Details - Parasol Inc.
what do you all think about this? Im thinking of buying this dye because I'm really looking for something permanent as this is my daily driver and I would rather not have to keep touching up my seats..

I may use this on my leather seats and the dupli-color on my vinyl dash and doors etc.

Intersting, I was thinking of dying the back of my seats (which are cloth) black. It isnt my daily and I doubt many will wanna sit back there expecially because of my roll cage going in soon.

Seems like a good product. I think most of this type stuff will be a toss up and it will just be a matter of time before you say "F.ck it I'm doing it"...lol

Why not just replace the fabric?

Well as long as the dye really does permanently change the color and it doesnt fade, i think this will be easier and less time consuming.. My leather is still in great shape only a few cracks on the drivers seat, the rest is mint

Yep $100 on craigslist and it took 30 minutes to put them in. I didn't have to swap out tracks because it came with them but you can use you factory tracks. It all bolts right up and right in and you can move the side lumbar outward or inward to fit your body size. It was a quick fix for the leather seats that have you sliding all over the place.
