Depends on the wire too, if your using copper wire or Metal core ect.
Metal core melts very easily compared to copper.

OK, got a little accomplished today. Started working on the firewall where it was all bent up. What a nightmare this turned out to be. Certain areas weren't fixable, and had to be removed and patch panels will have to be made, but we'll talk about those when the pics get there.
Here's what I started with. Notice the area around the lower hole, it was torn and folded over itself. The rest was just severely bent: ![]() Here's a better picture that shows how folded up it is after I started sanding it down. Guess what? Found bondo on the firewall as well...... Imagine that. ![]() After trying for about an hour, it became apparent that there was no way to salvage the area around the lower hole. So I had to cut it out so that the visible parts once the new engine go in will be flat and smooth: ![]() Put the ScottRodFab panel in to act as guide on the contour of the firewall, and did some more hammer work. Getting there slowly: ![]() That's a lot better, we've making progress now (except for the big hole in the firewall....lol) ![]() A good view of the passenger's side of the firewall at about 80% straightened out. Still a bit more hammer work to do, and I've conceded to the fact that I'm going to have to use some All-Metal in that area to smooth it out and keep the filler at a minimum.
