Roll Bar

Ok I finaly have the money to get my drag roll bar from Maximum Motorsports so I can run at my local track. Any thing I should know before ordering? The track is NHRA cert. and I need to pass inspection. Also bolt in or weld? I could do either one or both.

I don't believe a bolt in is NHRA cert. Shouldn't matter if it's an NHRA track or not....... why do you want one? Are you a 'vert?

bolt in is nhra legal from my understanding....cheak out the wolfe roll bars they are having a 20% off for the holidays that saves damn near 200 bucks!!!!! makes the roll back like 600 shipped..thats with swingouts and the bars notched...its alot cheaper if you dont want swingout..

bolt in is legal, but you'll need a welded harness tube.

also if you get the swing out door bars, they will need stops welded to the inside of the recievers on the main hoop.

took some time off to get my racing activities back on track.

I was spending too much time fooling around with the "next best mod/etc" & not enough time in the winners circle, lol.

You might want to look into RPM rollbars - they make them for New Edges now and arrive complete - no welding or painting. Awesome quality!

RPM Rollbar - Rollbars

Which is great assuming that your chassis hasn't flexed out of alignment over it's lifetime.

With a price difference like that, my first guess is that they're made overseas. Other things to look at would be the quality of the welds, the thickness of the tubing, and the quality of the steel used.

the comp roll bars are not as install friendly (they need welded in the car requireing the entire interior/etc to be removed) as the others & depending on how you look at it, not quite as safe in a street driven car (the rear supports go into the trunk area instead of the wheel wells).

while I agree that 1200 is kinda pricey for the one shown in the link, at half that the Maximum Motorsports 6pt is a great fitting piece & is all most folks will ever need.

Rear seat would fit. Wouldn't be safe to sit though.

Mine started out a MM bolt-in 6-point. It was easy to install by myself.
