Straight Pipes Yes Or No?

So I'm debating on if I should cut my cats and mufflers off my stock exhaust and just run straight pipe, I am planning on buying borla's in the future but I have a guy who can just cut my pipes for free in the mean time. I've got a bone stock gt and was wondering if this would be a good or bad idea, would love to hear any input you guys have

I would say no, will not have enough back pressure and will be way to f'n loud. I'll be running straight pipes but only after my turbo is in.

I say no. You may like it for about 10 minutes but after that it will get annoying.

back pressue is a myth my friend..although exhaust velocity would be a good term to use here

@OP...honestly i wouldn't...when swapping my stock GT midpipe for an o/r prochamber i started it before putting the mufflers back on....it was too loud for me....like a bad kinda too loud.

i'd wait till you get the mufflers you want

it'll shift your power band a bit i would assume as exhaust velocity increases....but i'm being honest when i say that there is a thing as too loud

I have stock manifolds, catted x pipe and straight pipes.

Very loud which I like. But not a fan of the raspyness from the x.

I'm switching to Mac LT's o/r porchamber, straight pipe until I either get lm1 or stringers

You will lose what little bottom end power you have now if you put straight pipes on. Don't do it.

I did it on my car and IT WILL hurt the power it made my car feel like a fat dog pulling off and was just Very loud and obnoxious sounding no tone whatsoever. That setup lasted for 1hour then I went back and paid to have my mufflers put back on i would never do it again. Sounded like ass and made my car feel slow.

I have stock manifolds, stock h pipe and straights after that. Not too loud but still has a pretty decent tone to it. I get compliments on it all the time . I tell people its stock just a muffler delete kinda thing. I've been called a lier a time or two. One fella went as far to bend down and check for his self. Lol. Not loud at all cruising speeds either.

No. The guy that said he got compliments was with a stock midpipe. Thats with either 4 or 6 factory cats. Not even high-flow. And if its just a stock GT, thats all the more you shouldn't. No offense, but you would be one of the people I despise, a loud-ass car with nothing to back it up. Yes, just as bad as a ricer with a fart can. Borla stingers are by far my favorite sounding mufflers, and I will probably end up going with them eventually. I have had people complain about MY car with a CATTED x pipe and flowmaster mufflers, and not even driving like a dick. Then again, those people are pussies, but nonetheless, a mustang with any kind of aftermarket exhaust is going to be louder than 90% of the cars out on the road. Please for all mustang enthusiasts and your neighbors, do not run straight pipes. #rantover

Straight pipes are for high school guys with no money lol. A true dual divorced or X/H pipe will give you loads better sounds with a couple flows. And it IS too loud as 6er said.

I was in the middle of swapping mufflers once and had my friend clamp a couple pieces of pipe on so I could hear my car with no mufflers and a catless mid-pipe. Needless to say, it sounded like pure shit! I don't know how to describe the god aweful noises that came from my exhaust and no sane person would be able to deal with all that noise for more then ten minutes.
