Pulling and engine with longtube headers installed??

I am removing my engine that has longtube headers installed on a 2003 Mustang GT. Will I need to remove the headers first to remove the engine or will there be enough space to pull it with them attached? Another option would be unbolting them and leaving them in the engine bay if I can get to all the bolts which looks nearly impossible with the k-member on. Just trying to think of an easier way without having to drop the K-member and remove the steering shaft. Any suggestions or ideas?

Yes you can leave it on, you can drop the engine in with them on so yeah, you'll have to disconnect the steering shaft though

Is the transmission still connected to the engine? If you plan on pulling out the trans before the engine, you'll need to make sure the trans will clear the longtubes. My BBK LT's do not allow my trans to clear. If they don't clear, then you will be taking those LT's out!

Not sure in your '03 but I had to pull the drivers side when I pulled motor and trans in my '96. I didn't have enough room to get my steering shaft to swing out from where it runs between the middle tubes. Passenger side was not an issue and stayed on.
