99 gt longblock/shortblock same as my 03?
might have the chance to pickup a longlbock from a 99 gt locally with 70k miles...mihgt even just shoot the guy an offerfor the shortblock, cause he wants 700$ for the longblock...but is it the same because i figure if i have anohter block i can slowly start building mine becaue ill still have my car running throughout the time, i can drop it off at my engine builder and then just give him deposits when i get the money and he said hell work on it over time...this way i can rreally crank up some boost
... but back to the main question, will i just be able to swap the built shorblock for mine if its from a 99?

The 99 Mustangs came with the Windsor engine. You more than likely have the Romeo engine.
Some differences between the two. Windsor - 13/14 bolt valve covers Romeo - 11 bolt valve covers Windsor - 8mm and 10mm bolts in the timing cover Romeo - 8mm bolts Windsor - 8 bolt crank Romeo - 6 bolt crank You would be better off to buy his longblock if it's a complete engine.

So OP, yes, as long as you use the other complete engine in its entirety, you'll be fine. |

windsor motors are accualy better than romeo. the rods are 1 gram heavier, and they have dowl's in the side of the block instead of bolts. they are also rated to hold more power, not that it is common for a romeo block to crack. romeo heads are better than windsor heads, the have cam girdles, and the later year heads have 9 spark plug threads. not that windsor heads are bad but most get timeserts installed.
