Alright guys, went to do the flush today but ran into an issue that makes me want to get the car on a lift before I do this.

The trans is definitely leaking. I snapped some pictures and a short video. It looks like it's leaking from that rubber piece at the front of the trans underneath the Torque Convertor housing.

O/D has started to shift harder and harder over the last two weeks. I'm worried that the clutches and bearings are just going out all together and I now worry about if changing the fluid is going to do anything at all to help.

Short Video (sorry for quality, not a lot of space under the car when its on the ramps)

Any suggestions on what to do from here?

that plug covers the converter drain plug up, theres nothing to leak out of there but the front seal of the trans & if thats the case the trans has to come out to fix the seal.

I wouldn't start panicing yet, but I might look around your area for a reputable trans re-builder & get a price off them.

there is no point, with the miles the car has, to pull the trans & change the seal only, you may as well get it gone thru & freshened up.

Well and at that point, I can buy a junkyard 4R70W for $400-500 and just replace it yeah? MustangMatt96GT has already offered to help me do the swap in about two days time if need be.

Knowing what we know now, do you think it's safe to say that I should explore that option?

I would consider pulling the trans, but unless I was temporarily sorting out a swap or something, I would never, ever put a used auto in a car without freshing it up.

UGH. I really don't freaking have the money for this. But if I go to that extent, I'd almost want to swap in a 3650. I miss shifting gears some days and my car is not going to see any additional power mods whatsoever so I'm not worried about the trans ability to handle power.

My buddy has a lift at his speed shop, I might try and see if I can get it over there this week and get a better look at everything.

the whole "lets take a better look before we get too excited" idea is your best plan.

by the sounds of it you have plenty of time with the trans thats in the car, so why rush?

try cleaning everything up & see where the leak is & go from there.

Of course. I need to figure out what the heck is going on first. hahaha. I think you're dead on about a leak with the front seal, but yeah, I'll need to look further into it.

And I don't know, I feel like my Trans is really on it's way out somedays. There are times where shifts into all three gears and O/D feel flawless, but then there are others where it's just rough. The O/D Pin is definitely slipping a bit and it shifts pretty hard into O/D on occasion.

I'm not saying there isn't a problem, but by the sounds of it you should have some more time.

look at your options & by all means if your thinking about a stick swap, nows the time to start collecting parts.
