nothing much to really break down, a terminator swap (done right, not some high school shop class hack job) requires a complete donor car.

totaled terminators with good drivetrains/swap parts/etc average in the 10k range.

You can get an mmr 4.75 750se and truck flow top end for idk ~7-8k. Then get used sc for 2k.

If you have the means to do so and its within your goals and budget, sure. I suggest you look into it more and form your own opinion.

Its worth it IMO. You can do it for less the 10k you just have to be on your toes and watch for good deals.

I would rather build the motor you already have. You don't know what kind of abuse a used Cobra motor has been through.

What if you already had a 03 Cobra engine/Sullivan intake/Hellion 61mm twin turbo (and nothing else). Need to know what the "other" stuff costs to make it all work.

im assuming you have the compleat kit for the hellion turbo and everything needed for the motor ie tb, coils, fuel rails, and so on. you can modify your stock wire harness to work by extending the wires to the coils and switching the polarity. other than that a few minor harness changes and your there motor wise. you may still need to sink some money in good drive train to hold down the power.

Why hello.

The short answer is lots of work, and maybe.

I think my total is around $9100 (soon to be higher if I get some Cobra seats), but that's car included. I also got my car dirt cheap and it already had some Cobra goodies on it. Not to mention that's with a good deal of junkyard scrounging, and also includes lots of upgrades that put it on par with some of the pricier Cobra's.

I would say worth it if you're doing your own work and have a cheap car. If I was one of the people that paid $12k for my car, I'd say hell no, buy a Cobra. And if I had a chance to buy a Cobra at the price Stal did, I'd definitely just buy a Cobra.

I wonder if dcook still has his GTermi swap up for sale...

I now own/have converted 2 Terminator swapped GT's and paid less than 6k to do each. Is it worth it? That is up to each person to decide.

I plan to do this swap on my GT this spring. If u ask me it is worth to me but everycase is different. I have done a lot of work to my car suspension wise and other little minor stuff that if i brought a cobra i would need to do all over again plus i would need my straight axle on the cobra. Plus insurance is cheaper on a GT. I also have a broken trans so since i need a new i want a 6speed and i should just get a cobra motor with all the harness and computer and just make it happen. Then get it tuned and go from there.

Well good luck with that one. It's quite the pain in the ass, or so I've heard.

...and if you need a Cobra PS reservoir bracket I fabricated a second one and still have the template for more. I'll let them go for $20, which sure beats Ford's $300.
