I Want Your Opinion On Which Hood To Buy!!

hey guys im going to be purchasing a new hood for my black 01 and want your help picking it ive narrowed my decision down to two hoods either a TRUFIBER monster heat extractor or a 2.5 cowl i might also purchase an 01 cobra front bumper please give me some input or suggestions i also need a hood with more clearence under hood for my kb. and im not sure if the monster heat extractor has more than stock? if anyone knows please tell clearence is my main issue. ......

here is the monster heat extractor

and here is the 2.5 cowl made by h.o fibertrends

my vote goes for the H.O. Fibertrends 2.5.

BAZNastyDave has that hood (i'm 99% sure) along with the 99/01 Cobra bumper cover and his car is f'ing sweet.

you should easily get the clearance you are after with that hood. i cant comment on the Heat Extractor hood...other than it belongs on an EVO or something of the like.

The authentic heat extractor hoods from Saleen have a cowl rise bigger than stock but I don't know about the fibertrends design. You could always call and ask one of their reps. Furthermore, Cruizin concepts is a vendor here and have both of those styles available. If you pm one of them they will get you a really good deal one one.

I say the cowl hood over that heat extractor. However, a Saleen style extractor hood has always looked good imo.

your hood actually looks pretty good 97S281. reminds me more of a Termi hood for the 94-98 body style.

that one from Trufiber just doesnt do anything for me.

it really looks like a hood for an EVO VIII

I like the heat extractor better, but I highly doubt it would clear the KB. If that car was an 03/04 Cobra sporting it, I wouldn't worry. But despite his Cobra badge and 03/04 bumper, I don't see an intercooler in that lower grille. In fact that owner needs to fix that ASAP.

Might try asking some of the Cobra guys if any of them are running that hood and if it clears the blower.

You can see the OEM 03/04 Cobra hood has the extractors, but it looks like it rises higher, has the vents set back further, and wider apart to clear the snout.
