Upr Shorty Headers


Are they discontinued? I cant find them anywhere... Id like to buy some cheap shorties when income tax money comes in an te only ones i can find anymore is bbk an jba and theyre pricey

I am not a big UPR fan. You can usually FRPP shortys used fairly cheap.

If you end up being stuck choosing BBK or JBA. JBA all the way their header qaulity is GREAT!

I noticed ford racing quit making them to... Anyone know why we have like no selection anymore?

Shortys really aren't a hot item on mod-motors. The majority of people just go to LT's because they help so much more then a shorty.

Ya but the 5.4 swap guys need shortys like the upr and ford racing...

not really you can run stock cobras and support a decent amount of power

Now I am talking 4-valve. A stock 2-valve manifold will work too.

I have a set of brand new bbk shorty headers that I'm either going to insta or sell if the price is right they come with all the hardware in the unopened bag and the upgraded 50$ racing gaskets from bbk.com . The reason I bought them is a buddy with an 04 got a set for x mas last year and had them installed ( he is a spoiled rich mommys boy) and he gained 12rwhp and 10 rwtq and his down low power and tq went up as much as 18 in some rpms under 4000 but up top they kinda die out a lite bit and gains were like 8-10 at the max rpms but the over all average was like 14/13 was t too bad actually for shorties but yes long tubes can make 20-25 of each and can have an increase of like 30 in some rpms ranges. On the new 5.0 the long tubes were worth 48 rwtq at 3200 rpm. So it's better to look at average gains where you can use the power than peak stuff where u drive 10% of the time. Def a good mod for the buyer price in mind but if u have $ and can afford long tubes and new mid pipe install and then a dyno tune go for it. It will make double the power but cost 1500$ compared to 500$

I doubt he made that much more power with shorties, usually its 3-4 MAX. Id take that with a grain of salt.

I heard bbk will barely work on the 5.4 you have to hammer something somewhere... Why the hell did both upr an frpp quit them... Thats gay... An obx im afraid to even think of... Doubt they will flow good an doubt theyd last long before they cracked but i could be wrong i just know ive never heard of them so im guessing theyre cheap chinese crap

From what i heard they put out some of the better numbers... Shorty headers as we all know are not as good as long tubes but they are better then the stock cast manifolds...im just trying to get a few more rwho im doing some shorties amd a a plenum an tb im hoping to atleast get 10rwhp total

thats 450 bucks for 10 hp.

scratch all that shit you just said and save another 200 bucks and add 125hp through a nitrous kit.

You will see 10 hp at least with headers alone I've seen the dyno results in person. Now that also included getting the car tuned as well but he already had a handheld on it and all that changed was the headers and the tune and he got 12/14 or something. Around that I'll try and get the dyno sheets from him I know he has them still.

The FRPP headers cleared the steering shaft alot better AND cleared the frame rail alot better then the stockers
