Oil Leak Issue, Any Thoughts
Well Im a little confused, 2 days ago changed oil, drove car ran fine, parked it. came out this morning before work and there was a small puddle of oil beneath the car which appeared to be dripping from the driver side bend in the headers. I cranked the car up, idles smooth sounds fine, i did not see any apparent leaks in the engine bay, the oil drain plug is secure, oil filter is clean ?????? going to try and get the car in the air if i can get home from work in time but any thoughts ? Oh car has no power adder, only mods to engine are CAI, 75 mm tb , plenum , bbk long tube headers

Did you replace the gasket on the oil drain plug. If you don't have a good nylon gasket on it it WILL leak.

If it's not the plug, you could check where your dipstick goes into the block. There is just an o-ring around the dipstick, however I realy doubt it's coming from there, just kindof seems unlikely.

Check the oil filter housing gasket. Mine was leaking and throwing oil up the side of my valve cover by the dipstick tube like your talking about.

This just reminded me. A long time ago on one of my old cars it was leaking after I had just done an oil change. What I found was that when I removed the old oil filter, the old oil filter gasket stayed on the engine so when I put the new oil filter on it was double gasketed and leaking through there. Might check that.

Also make sure you didn't screw the filter on too tight causing the gasket to pinch and create a small "gap".

well after being stuck at work for 14 hours finally got home and got the car in the air, turns out that the small oil spot was from the oil filter change, so no oil leak. But I did discover the culprit! small leak in power steering line, and also the master cylinder appears to be bad. So at least its nothing major. thanks for the help guys
