Wet Carpets Inside My Car?

I have a brand new top on my car which I do not think can be leaking. The old top was torn so I assumed the previously wet carpets had come from the 3 foot hole in the top. The only wet areas are behind the front seats. The reat seat and front seats are all dry and the interior panels are also dry. I just have a mysterious amount of water on the floor between the rear seat and the back of the front seat. Any experiences with this or thoughts at all?

If its on the passenger side I would guess your heater core has gone out.

I had a 99 GT that happened to and it had anitfreeze leaking on front passenger side and clear to the floor board of the backseat.

like termi GT said, check your heater core and make sure that is not the culprit...especially if your only having this problem on the passenger side. otherwise, you may have a leak somewhere up by the cowl. i know for sure i have this same problem with my '02 Coupe but its only after a very HARD rain that my carpet will become damp.

I do not think that it is my heater core. My front carpets are dry. It is definately coming from the rear. I had water under my rear seat and in the lining the top folds down into. Thoughts?

This is what the guy at the convertible shop told me as well, that debris gets into the rails in the side skirt and when it gets backed up, it can cause water to seap in

Had all sorts of leaking problems. Water would normally be on passenger side rear foot well. What I found was that it only leaked when the car was on an incline where the front of the car was pointing up the incline. If the position was reversed no leak.

Turns out that the water that was being channeled down into the rocker panel would drain out of a rocker panel weep hole towards the front of the car when car was facing down the incline. No water draining out of the weep hole towards the rear of the rocker panel. What I ended up doing was drilling a hole in the bottom of the rocker panel towards the rear of the door opening. No leak after that....at least not so far.

I would first take your back seat out to see if there is water there first. If that area is dry I would suspect a blocked drainage hole.
