sorry i have not read the entire thread, but i would not go with rear mount turbo kit. it is a ton of pipe to run, plus it has quite a bit of lag in it. many people have issues with water damage from where the turbo is mounted. you really want to mount the turbo as close to the motor as possible. hot air is fast air

You should read the whole thread though... Multiple people have stated alot of lag but nobody has posted any reason or evidence of this... I have seen and heard only good things about these kits and is a great alternative as well...

yes rear mounts have lag...one way they try to improve on spool time is the exhaust houseing on the turbo is only an .43 a/r so helps but cant make big power because the car will fall on its face up top..

and you posted videos on VETTES...these motors are 281ci...not a 427ci like the z06 and not 346 like a standard ls1 car...so they move ALOT more air than these motors..another thing about sts kits is you need to run 2 scavenger pumps..which are loud and can easily fuck up and you will never know till its to late...unless you go with the comp turbo oil-less turbos..

anything else?

x2 another reason

and they dont like doing it either because of the scavenger pump problem..alot of them make a oiling system in the back just for the turbos..which is more money and more shit to put on the car..

I believe I mentioned the DVDB car earlier. I didn't know he used an independent oiling system. On a race car that's certainly wiser, given the concerns of oiling system failure.

Like I said earlier, it's definitely something you can do, and you'll get some results, but it won't be on par with a closer turbo, and will be considerably more vulnerable in the event of a failure.
