Just Dropped Her Off At The Tuner!

OK, just dropped off the car at Central Texas Performance for a Dyno-Tune. Should have it back Sunday. Anyhow, here are the mods list:

• MMR900 (4.6L) w/ -18cc Pistons and ARP Hardware Upgrades
* Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 44cc Heads
• Trick Flow Track Heat Intake Manifold
• Accufab 75mm Throttle Body
• Custom COMP Cams (.545 Lift and 277-[In]/285[Ex] Duration)
• 60lb Injectors w/ Dual Cobra Pumps + KB BAP
• JBA Shorty Headers, Magnaflow Tru-X and Flowmasters
• SPEC Stage 3 Clutch
• Procharger P1SC w/ 3.6” and 3.2” pulleys (6-rib setup)

I think the P1SC is the major restriction is my setup and the 6-rib setup prolly will slip on the 3.2” but we will see I guess. Time to find out if the P1SC can really make any power I guess! Anyone care to guess?

Here are some pics and a startup video. Pulling the complete drivetrain from the top was cake. Everyone makes a big deal of it ... but didn't take long at all.

If the belt does not slip and you can hit over 15#the I hope you make mid 500's to low 600's. But the p1sc is a tough blower to make that high of numbers with. I will be excited to see a p1 break over 500hp

my guess is 508 rwhp and 477 rwtq, just random numbers. i'm guessing on belt slip, if not add 30 to the hp and 20 to the tq.

Actually the car has only been down less than a week. I talked to him to make a tentative reservation first, then swapped in the new engine. My old engine ran great but it was stock and I didn't want to push it. I must have price it too low cause it sold in less than 24 hours of pulling it out!

While I'm hesitant to have too high of expectations, I'd really like to hit the magic 500 whp mark. If not, I'll just enjoy it for a while and save pennies for a blower upgrade.

Sure hope it makes right around 600rwhp. Little Vortech V1 S trims are making upper 400 rwhp at 10-11psi with blower cams and stock heads/intake.

Why is it at the tuners for so long?

I seriously doubt I'll be anywhere near 600whp. I actually don't expect 500 but would be really happy if I did. P1SC's aren't known for their ability to breathe well. Good entry-level size. I made 9-10psi w/ the 3.6" pulley on stock heads/cams. I imagine the new higher-flowing heads/cams will drop that. So as long as I don't have any belt slip ... I might be right around 11-12psi w/ the 3.2". That's only 54K @ 6500RPM so it's not being pushed to the max (62K).

I just dropped it off yesterday and he wasn't going to be able to get to it until today. Should be done tomorrow. It's a completely new setup so he has to start at ground zero. I prefer he takes his time anyhow.

I'd toss that P1SC in a heartbeat if it doesn't get you to 500. I know they are not that great of a blower, but if you are spending all that money on a motor, heads, cams, intake and don't even break 500 then it is a huge waste. Upgrade to a D1SC or get a Vortech.

He usually gets quite a bit of bizz way out there but he gets the jobs done in a timely fashion and also follows up with you after its all done. Good deal that its working out for you and good luck with the finishing touches on that ride.

I saved alot of $$ as a local Mustang guy paid retail prices for most of the build but had to abandon it due to a nasty and expensive divorce. I have all the original receipts and paperwork though. Approximate costs for engine only:

MMR Shortblock = $3400
Trick Flow Heads = $2300
Trick Flow Intake = $950
Custom Grind COMP Cams = $650
Accufab 75mm TB = $250
JBA Headers = $470
Meziere Electric Water Pump = $475

TOTAL = $8495 I paid almost half that!

Of course, this isn't including the Fuel System, Supercharger etc.

Uggg ... the waiting is killing me!

Sounds like you got a kickass deal. People way underestimate the value that can be had by finding/buying the way you did. My car had almost $20k in upgrades done to it (professionally) and I only paid about $3k over the value of the car if it were bone stock (15 cents on the dollar). Good luck and can't wait to see the numbers.
