And It Begins..... (pulling motor).. Questions..
Well I had a couple free hours so I decided to pull everything off my engine and get it ready to snatch out. This time im going to do some painting of my engine prior to it going back in. My 4.75 engine should be getting finished up so might as well use this time to clean it up a bit. My car is now a silver with pearl in it (very sharp color). I want to do some of that on my engine...
Questions.... Valve covers ok to base coat/clear coat? Timing cover ok to base coat/clear coat? My polished D1sc headunit is kinda shitty looking so could I base coat/clear coat it or will it get too hot? Any other ideas? I think ima go with the eddie/6061 combo and if so, I may paint the intake also and leave the 6061 too shine.

Baker, everything you mentioned is fine to base coat/ clear coat. Just make sure you clean them up really well to get the oil and grim off them

The headunit gets pretty hot at times. Im thinking it should be fine though. Ill get it the rest of the way out in the morning. It is really too easy pulling these motors. Lol

Is your D1SC polished or Satin? It's not that hard to polish to a nice shine.
They make special high-temp paint for valve covers/engines with base and clear coats.

LOL!
The windsor block (99-01) comes with a 3 bolt timing cover (in 99) and a 1 bolt timing cover (in 00-01) So that doesnt matter, each one will work on whatever block. But the 3 bolt timing cover is better
