Taking My Car To Ford Tomorrow...

I did some research on my stalling issue when coming to a stop and stumbled upon this
2000 Ford Mustang Vehicle Speed Control Complaints

I heard that this issue is with 99 and 00 stangs and ford knows about it. Sometimes its the iac (not what my problem is) but I guess ford updated this guys computer and it solved the problem so Im going to check with my ford and see what they say. Also my pass window is all screwed up, Ive tried to fix it with no luck so Ill let them take a look at it too. Hopefully this solves my problems. Ill report my results back tomorrow.

You're going to get boned.

If it is a calibration issue they're going to whack you for an hour labor for a 5min job. Unfortunately there's no real alternative. My 02 Neon has the same sort of problem, they issued a TSB for the IAC control in the calibration, and Dodge wanted $100 to upload a new cal. Yeah right. I'll live with low idle on occasion, but no stalling.

And FWIW my 2000 had the same issue, but it turned out to be a combination of vacuum and exhaust leak from the PO. Make sure to check all those sorts of things before Ford screws you.

Haha yea I know ford is going to charge an arm and a leg but if its a computer problem then w/e I dont have the means of fixing it myself. Ive had two motors ( the first had stock exhaust, second came with my upr o/r x pipe and flowmasters) and it did it with both motors. Ive noticed that while its dying and I step on the gas it does nothing so Im guessing its a fuel problem (someone told me it could be a bad coil but idk). Is ford going to charge me for looking at it?

Mine does this also, and does it a few seconds after the RPM surge of the A/C engaging too. Mine hasn't stalled yet, but the RPMs drop very low, to the point of the car shaking.

Mine does this also. More often in winter than summer. I tweaked the throttle body stop screw a little and that helped. A little extra by-pass air gives the IAC more time to react. Let us know if they fixed the problem.

Wow I didnt think that this thread would have this many replies lol. To answer limiteds question its a manual. Anyway, to spare me a couple hundred bucks i called ford this morning and talked to a tech. He told me he had the same year stang and its either a bad IAC ( I already replaced mine) or a vacuum leak. He told me its probably one of the green or red vacuum lines and for me to follow them and look for leaks. I told him that I have an evap code (p045 I think) which it no purge flow or a large vacuum leak. He said that could be the problem. I already have the new purge valve so its a matter of me getting around to do it. Ill let you guys know how it goes.

Haha thanks. I tried taking my pass fender off today but I cant get to the bolts by the door. I need a hack saw to get the screws to take the fender liner off so I can get to it thru the wheel well.
