the locker will give you better 60' times due to the fact that the clutches do actually slip a little. I just got off the phone with my dad and he said that the locker will indeed net you better 60' times. Its the closest thing you can get to a full spool but yet be streetable

Yes, I remember some launches where I could actually feel one wheel turn over/spin maybe a half a turn or 1 turn and then the car hooked and picked up the front tires. I guess the stock differential was switching over the torque to the non-spinning wheel - it seemed like it took a couple of tenths of a second - but you know how time slows down on the dragstrip!.

You will also want to screw your tires to the wheels

trutrac isnt as good as the dlocker but is better than the clutch type rear diff. The trutac is a little more streetable as it doesnt make a ratcheting noise around corners like the dlocker does

It will be. For a mostly street cat, trutrac is the way to go. But for a bracket/ mostly drag car a dlocker is the only way to go.. full on drag, should have a spool

I used to do a lot of rockcrawling in highly modded jeeps and buggies. Why not run an ARB air locker? You can flick the switch when you want the locker and then turn it off ro street use.

plus you have the added weight of the air compressor or air tank for it, and what if you end up breaking or tearing a hose? then you would be down to a 1 wheel peel

The compressor weight would not be much, but when you are watching the ounces it weighs a couple pounds. As far as breaking or tearing up a line that is not really an issue. Once the line is run it will not be doing any work. As long as it is run where it will not be bound in a control arm or something dumb you will be fine. I ran a number of them and like I said every part of my vehicle came in contact with rocks....

For a car that mostly sees strip I wouldn't put one in. That's just my experience from building drag cars

I would run a mini spool which can use a stock diff and not require c clip eliminators. For a car that sees the street a trutrack is a great diff. I run one in my car and it locks every time. They open up during turns with vary little noise and are extreamly sensitive so they feel like a locked up rear off the line
