150 Nitrous Shot
I got rid of the Mod Bug for almost a year but, its time to give my mustang some more pep in its step.
The 5.4 HPS intake I have is supposedly good for nitrous and designed for nitrous so since i paid 500 for it ill keep it and spend grab the nitrous kit, tune, spark plugs, and drag radials Im looking to add a 100-150 shot with a dyno tune @ Big Shot Dyno in Tallmadge ohio. Maybe MHS Stage 3 Nitrous Cams. Im trying to get to 400hp and into the 11 second range. Supsension is there it just needs to be dialed in once I get it to the track. Can the stock 5.4 hold a 150 shot?

The stock 4.6 can all day so I don't see why not, that's about an hour away from me though
Edit: was that 270 horsepower with the cams?

If your worried about it just do a 125 shot, the 5.4 with a 125 shot will still probably make more than a 4.6 with a 150 shot. The 5.4 with a 125 should do 400-430 I would think, and 11's would be really easy with a good suspension setup and the spray.

if you've got decent suspension already, and can hook up you should have 11's np on just a 125 shot. I'd start there since it's a 5.4. I have bolt ons and a 125 shot and ran a 12.1 and I didn't even spray it right off the line due to traction issues. you should see 11's all day.

I have a built 3650, 4.10s, superior hardened axles, baseline relocated uppers, weight jackers, eibach drag springs, 200 lb coil overs in the front, 4.10 gears and im going to get a set of drag radials
Do you a 12.1 on those wheels? Im going to put the purge in the shaker and start with a 100 shot.

Not really "ran" it yet because it ran out of fuel on the dyno. Need to get a bigger pump in and a retune before I spray it but im spraying a 150 shot, NX plate system. Hoping for 450whp after a bigger pump. Never ran the 1/4th but my 7.88 says it converts to a 12.3X and I ran that with only 285WHP, if your serious about drag racing then getting the suspension dialed in, good tires on, and rear built is the 1st thing to do THEN start adding power lol people always do it backwards.

I ran a 125 shot on my stock block of course I only ran about 50+ botttles through it in no time. You should be ok if you take all the right precautions such as fuel pressure sensor, Bottle heater, never run the Nitrous until your pressure is optimal. I ran a purge kit to just to ensure I was getting a pure shot of the Good stuff. you sont have to purge all day, just enough to get a clean shot. colder plugs are also a must.

I can pretty much stab it in 1st with 4.10s and 300+ ft lbs from 2000-5000 rpm

Not sure how well the weight jackers are gonna be, everytime you raise or lower it it will throw off your pinion angle

"For best results and to get the suspension set up correctly for Drag Racing it is recommend that there is some way to alter the ride height of the rear of the car. Adjusting the rear ride height alters the rear control arm geometry thus moving the Instant Center (IC). Lengthening the IC changes the amount of leverage the suspension has to lift the nose of the car and it changes the amount of tire loading during the launches. Some ways that can be done to adjust the ride height are the use of coilovers, coilover conversion, weight jacker type LCA's, cutting springs or adding weight. Doing this is not necessary but it's recommended for best results." - Baseline
