Slight Problem

Alright tinted tail lights did them myself and i must say they look great for some back yard project but im stationed here in VA and the cops in the Norfolk area are everything but lenient or nice so guy wrote me a 98. ticket for my taillights being to dark and i want to try and resolve this problem with some LED tailight bulbs or significantly brighter bulbs but i have no clue to where i should even start my search if yall could point me in a general direction it would be a huge help. Thanks mustang guru's

Are you trying to keep the tint and just add led?

You can get 6 RED led brake light leds off superbrightleds.com

I'll look for the part number.

In TX the red lense( not bulbs) needs to be seen from 200 yards away.

I buy my led bulbs of eBay.
Get the number off your lights and look up the led version, you can find them dirt cheap on ebay.

I think the led number is 3157

They are 3157's, look at V-LEDS.COM | LED Dome, Map, License Plate, Reverse, DRL, Turn Signal, Brake Lights or superbrightleds.com you'll need 6 to have all matching brake and running lights

Yes im wanting to keep my original tailight housings with the tint just want something that will be brighter so they cant tell me they are not able to see my brake lights. Other than the lights they really cant touch me b/c the car is registered in SC

im also from Norfolk, I was going to tint mine when I got off this deployment, but I think I am going to hold back from doing so now.. cops in VA are crazy

yeah man its ridiculous how strict they are im just glad i never changed my state residency

In VA driving over 80mph is a misdemeanor offense. They get you for reckless driving just fyi
