American Muscle Discount????

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to buy rotors and pads from American Muscle. I've sent a couple PMs to AMNick asking for a discount code for this purchase. It's been over a week and still haven't received a response.

Does AM provide discounts to forum members or not? Is sending a PM to this username the correct path to take in order to get a code?

Thanks for your help.

STsetGo...I did read that READ ME. I sent a PM off to AMStanger and received a message back saying my message couldn't be delivered to this username. Read somewhere else to send the message to AMNick.

However, I guess I didn't read the READ ME close enough. Looks like you have to have more than 50 posts on the forum, which I don't. Guess I'll take my business somewhere else. Not going to wait until I have 50 posts to buy the rotors and pads.

The idea behind the 50 post limit is that they want to give some sort of discount to enthusiasts. They have to have some sort of metric for determining who can get the discount and who can't. Post count is as good a one for a forum discount as any.

You can't really blame them for wanting to give discounts only to the people who are most likely to be repeat customers.

andrewskaggs...understand their theory only problem with it is for those that just got their Mustangs, like me. I'm thinking they are losing new Mustang owners. Let's face it, Newbies aren't going to have a whole lot of input to other users right off the bat..it will take time to build their experience. That does't mean Newbies aren't on here looking for direction on building their rides. I would give them all kinds of business since I am just starting to build...but since I won't get a discount from AM I probably will try to find another supplier that will provide one.

94v6lkndred....i have nothing against the modded mustang site...am finding, as you said, an abundance of information...i'm also sure american muscle is a great supplier...all i'm trying to point out is that i need parts now, and since i don't have a bunch of knowledge i don't have any valuable input to provide (right now) to other users. since i don't have input i don't see getting to 50 + posts very quickly. So, I either go with AM to get undercounted parts or find another vendor that does provide a discount. Just saying.

Already been through the military...so NO i would never join the military to get a military discount...though that analogy is a little far fetched...

AM pays to be here...If they gave the code out without requiring a post count they could be shooting themselves in the foot...As when they give someone the code and they buy something and come back praising them and showing it off online they make more customers and can recoup the money they paid for the vendor status and the discount....

It takes what, a day to get 50 posts.

I mean if you need rotors and pads that bad, why in the hell did you wait so long

Durr4456...it takes a day to get 50 posts if either you have knowledge you can pass on to other users, which right now I don't, or you start adding smiley faces and such to boost your count (post whoring) which I'm not about to do. I guess if I continue to explain my position in this thread I'll get to 50 post today.

Also, you must have missed the fact that I just got this Mustang about 2 weeks ago so in actuality i'm not waiting very long to perform needed maintenance!!!!

not to take away from AM or keep this thread going but..if you severly need new brakes and,im not sure on the mods done to said car but, you can go to autozone or something and get some rotors and such without having to wait on shipping or a discount etc...
